I covet William Yeoward's crystal like no other..but I fear mutiny from my husband if I began to collect this, adding yet more items to my home that already is stuffed to the gills with china and crystal...and books.(Did I ever mention the books?)The Fern pattern is stunningly beautiful however.....object of desire, indeed.

The crystal is very beautiful, although a bit like Jools, I really can't justify buying any more since I already have more than I ever use.
Funnily enough the pattern is very similar to some wine glasses that were a wedding present for my parents when they got married in 1950.
They hardly used them as neither drank wine, and I don't use them because they are just too small(!) but they do look very beautiful in the glass cabinet!

Hi Joolsfw: Perhaps you could sneak them in under cover of night or something, or hide them behind all the books. LOL! I would happily have any of Yeoward's designs, but the Fern pattern is my absolute favorite.

Hi LizF: The cupboards in my typical NYC galley-style kitchen are full to bursting, although I imagine I could always find some shelf space for a few of these beauties!

Those are gorgeous!! I must be careful, as I just bought a house and I have promised myself I won't fill it to the brim. I never realized what a challenge that would be...

Yikes! Those flutes are enough to make you weep. Would it be wrong, do you think, to remodel my kitchen just to make a place for those?

Hi Martina: In my experience, one's possessions expand to fill whatever the alloted space, so why not indulge yourself?

Hello Heather: Wrong? No, not at all! I say get in the architect and start re-designing!

You can see a close-up of the photo on the Gumps site:

So beautiful. The Fern Champagne flute is a design miracle - the way the fronds seem to float in the air. (Sigh)

Hi Odette: Thanks for the link. The close-up really shows how stunning this design is.
