I have a weakness for Christmas ornaments, and always end up adding to my collection annually, despite having almost run out of storage space in my apartment. I think that this beauty from Simon Pearce will end up being this year's acquisition (not only is it lovely crystal, but pears also happen to be my favorite fruit):

No need to use it as an xmas ornament ... it could sit on your desk as a reminder of Adam & Eve since apparently it would have been a pear that the serpent used to tempt the innocent Eve (apples not having developed then) ... good story anyway and as you deal with the troubles of many Adams & Eves no need to restrain yourself from this purchase.

I am so lucky to have had the children of one of the glassblowers at Simon Pearce in my classroom. I have an apple and a pear.
