Colleen, I love this blog feature of yours. I am a people watcher.

Hi DianeD: Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoy it! Whispering: I'm Karen, not "Colleen"... : )

I love it when I see handsome men actually reading! It's such a nice treat!

Quite a high-brow week of books spotted.

Hi Martina: Now THERE'S an idea for a coffee-table photography book: "Handsome Men Reading."

Hello Thomas: Plenty of low-brow dreck in evidence, too, but I rarely bother to mention it unless the reader himself/herself is particularly amusing or visibly insane. Or both.

Have you seen today's Sketchbook post at NYTimes.com? It instantly made me think of this blog feature. :)

Also, along the lines of handsome men reading, you and Martina may be interested in this.

How very, very thrilling that someone is still reading Howards End. I'd like to read it again in the coming year. Such a wonderful book. When I was a girl, we called those long coats, 'maxi coats.' I had a black wool one with a big belt and an embroidered (is that even the right word?) penguin sewed on the lapel. I thought I was the coolest thing on earth. :<)

Hello "M" -- Thanks for the terrific NYT link! (How dare they pilfer my idea? LOL!) As for handsome men reading -- always a pleasure to behold.

Hi Nan! Great to "see" you here again. I know what you mean -- I always love to spot the classics, too. And I remember "maxi" coats, too. The girl at Grand Central was wearing a puffy down one that looked like a comforter with sleeves. : )

I loved "Never Let Me Go" and am glad to see that people are reading it. I gather the movie was not nearly as good, which is a real shame.

Enjoy! LOL

It's just a lot of cuteness & perfectly safe to look at while at work (although you might get a bit distracted.)

Hi JulieP: I enjoyed it, too, but didn't even know there WAS a movie. LOL!

Hello Odette: My goodness -- who knew you lot were so prurient?! (Meanwhile...clicking through to link . . .) LOL!
