What a great article! I can't wait to read this book.

Very eye-opening article. I bet you have hundreds of great stories that we haven't heard. I'm just glad that my marriage has lasted 41 years! There aren't many couples left who can say that. Take care and think about coming back to your blog after your book has been published. We all miss you.

That's a great article! I live in such a small/closed world that I still have to shake my head to think there are really people like those you write about! Good luck on the book--it sounds as though it's very needed! :) Hope all is well with you.

Hi Mary: Thanks! A bit cringe-making, but great publicity.

Hello Carol: Congratulations on those 41 years! I miss the blog, too . . .

Hi Danielle! Thanks for your good wishes. And fact is indeed stranger than fiction when it comes to some of these stories!

What a great article. I took a leaf from your blog and did a Seen on the Bus post a few days ago. It was extremely popular and everyone mentioned how much they missed you and your seen on the subway feature.

Thomas! I say go for it . . . it's such a fun feature to write! I just visited your blog and was touched at all the people who thought to mention me. As for the Daily Mail article -- my co-author and I are really happy it turned out so well.

So nice to hear an update from you, Karen! I have really missed your musings. The article is great, as is the book excerpt. It reaffirms my opinion that dealing with murderers and drug dealers is probably easier than negotiating prenups and divorces!

Thanks Jacqueline -- glad you enjoyed the article and snippet from the book!

Oh, Karen!! I love, love, love it!!! Cannot wait for July! Poor Elanie - did that dick ex-husband ever come to his senses and apologize for being bat-sh*t crazy to her?!?
Thanks so much for the post. It's a great bright spot with all the snow and the bald facing lying of the groundhogs, who had me believing we were to have an early spring...
Best,
Martina

YEAH -- you are back! LOVE THE ARTICLE -- and the art they chose to decorate it with! MISS YOU!

Best of luck to you and Elaine with the book. Will you get to go on a book tour? (hint, hint?)

I figured at some point we might hear back from you but this...this is amazing! Congratulations! I loved the article and of course I jumped over to Park AVe and this will be an amazing success. Who will play you in the movie??? LOL

Hello Martina -- Delighted you liked the book excerpt! As for Elaine, I believe she is still waiting (but not holding her breath) for an apology. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi M.B.: I have not yet seen a hard copy of the article, but I'm told it occupies three pages in the Sunday magazine section of the Daily Mail. I was mightily relieved that they decided to go with artwork to illustrate it, as I had been leery of providing a photo. And I'm not so much "back" as "stopping by."

Hi JulieP: Thanks! A book tour? With the publishing industry being what it is these days, I think only John Grisham gets to go on book tours!

Hello Martha: The movie?!? Elaine needs to be played by some cool, thin, immaculately coiffed blonde who can do a good Boston accent -- possibly Joan Allen. As for me, in idle moments at the office we ponder who would play us in "the movie version of the firm," and the actress who played Karen on "Will and Grace" is usually cast as yours truly. (You know, her or Catherine Zeta-Jones. LOL!)

OMG Karen on Will and Grace is AMAZING...in fact they didn't need Will or Grace given her and Jack! yes the book WOULD make a good movie -- a great movie! LOL! but seriously....it really would. We gotta have get Nicholson to play WCH --

Hi again M.B.: I thought you would approve of the casting choices! As for WCH, I don't know . . . Jimmy Cagney would have been perfect, but alas I believe he's no longer available. : )

OOOH!! Megan Mullally is excellent casting. Personally, I've always pictured Ms. Bookish as Bebe Neuwirth-ish, while my the friend who introduced me to this blog stands by Julianna Margulies...
Cheers,
Martina

Wait a minute...Joan Allen playing me??!! Way too thin and probably too nice. As for my hair it's a rat's nest. But thanks for letting everyone think I'm this fabulous creature.

Finally, I can attest to this very clever woman's talent as an attorney and as a writer. Anyone contemplating a divorce will benefit immensely from Karen's advice in the book. Best of all they'll enjoy the counsel of a high price lawyer without the exhorbitant fees! (Sorry Karen.)

Oh, and Martina, I just want you to know that I still have a recurring dream every night where I am driving down the FDR Drive and I'm plowing that "dick" right under my tires. I always sleep much better after that!

Best to all,

Elaine

Hi Martina: Well, that's very funny, because I, too, have always thought Ms. Neuwirth (in her guise as Lilith from Cheers/Frasier) might be a good choice, but others insist that Ms. Mullally is the way to go. LOL!

Elaine, Elaine: Let's just go for broke and insist on Meryl Streep for your role -- I think she's up to the challenge! xo

Well I, for one, wish you were "back" instead of just "stopping by," as I haven't yet found a book blog that matches up as well as yours with my book tastes. Glad to see you are being well promoted across the pond; now to get the same exposure over here. Were reading about pre-nups my cup of tea, I'd be first in line, but all I can say is, thank God I'm not in the market for one. Do check in with us now and then. I've kept you on my list of Favorites to check for occasions just such as this. Good luck!

Hi MyTwoCentsWorth: I do understand -- my fervent wish for my friends is that they NEVER need my services! Meanwhile, I am actually in London as I write this, having attended a conference on prenuptial agreements. Home tomorrow. Thanks again for your kind comments.

Shame you aren't back for good Karen but the book looks very good - just hope that I don't ever need the advice in it! I'd probably end up with the cats and about a million books!

Karen - so sorry your blog is stopping. I always found it witty and amusing and loved visiting. I may, just may, be in NY next year for a visit!
